Dear residents:
The Jane Way drainage area is near Beaufort Middle School in the Mossy Oaks neighborhood. As you likely know, this area has been the site of numerous flooding events over the past three years. The city is undertaking a multi-million dollar drainage improvement project to alleviate flooding.
Beginning on Aug. 11 as part of that project, the areas highlighted by red circles below will be cleared of obstructions like fallen trees and debris. Site preparation for installing upgraded drainage will also occur. While access to your property is not anticipated, there will be heavy machinery and workers in your area. Please exercise caution when navigating the area.
As part of this project, BJWSA will have to relocate some water lines to accommodate improved drainage. This may result in short water service interruptions. You will be notified when these outages, expected to last no more than four hours, will occur.
This portion of the work should take about 6 weeks to complete
As always, we deeply appreciate the patience and understanding of the residents as the long-needed improvements are made. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the on-site inspector, Al Tempest, or Neal Pugliese directly at npugliese@cityofbeaufort.org and we will do our very best to address your issues as rapidly as possible.
