Public Sector Experience
Eric brings back to Beaufort more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in municipal, county, and state government, with expertise in infrastructure management, capital improvement programs, public safety, and organizational leadership. Prior to the City of Beaufort, Eric served as Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Springfield, where he led five divisions, managing over 200 employees and overseeing agency accreditation. He also served as Director of Engineering for Beaufort County, administering capital and operational programs. Earlier roles include Director of Public Services for the Town of Nags Head and multiple engineering and leadership positions in Springfield.
Education
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri and South Carolina, as well as a Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE). He is currently pursuing his Masters in Public Administration from Missouri State University. Additionally, he has completed several leadership programs such as Leadership Springfield, Leadership ITE, and advanced management training through Missouri State University.
Family
Eric has been married to Julie, an ultrasound technologist and homeschool mom, for over 21 years. They have two daughters Taylor and Eva, who are both excited to be returning to call Beaufort home.
