Boards & Commissions
The City has a number of boards and committees comprised of volunteers from our community and staff liaisons. Here are the current openings, or opening that will be coming due to expiring terms:

All members of all city boards must be a resident of the city, own property in the city, or own or operate a business in the city limits with a valid business license.
All applicants will interview with the staff liaison of your selected board, as well as interviewing with City Council during a Worksession.
All members of any planning related boards are required to complete six hours of introductory training with their first year of service and three hours of continuing education every year after.
Cultural District Advisory Board (CDAB)
The city is seeking applications to fill an available at-large seat on the Cultural District Advisory Board. This board is looking for an individual that lives or works in the Cultural District. The Beaufort Cultural District is a walkable section of downtown the encompasses a wide array of arts and culture venues, organizations, businesses and events. Downtown Advisory Board
The Downtown Advisory Board will serve in an advisory capacity, offering insight on matters impacting downtown Beaufort, including economic vitality, neighborhood livability, tourism, hospitality, preservation, and strategic growth. The Board is intended to strengthen collaboration among business owners, residents, property owners, and community organizations while supporting the long-term vision for downtown.
Board Composition - The 15-member Downtown Advisory Board will consist of:
Downtown Business Representatives (3)
- One (1) retail business representative
- One (1) accommodation business representative
- One (1) tour operator representative
Downtown Property Owners/Developers (2)
Neighborhood Representatives (3)
- One (1) representative from The Point Neighborhood
- One (1) representative from the Old Commons Neighborhood
- One (1) representative from the Northwest Quadrant Neighborhood
At-Large Member (1)
One (1) individual who lives or works downtown.

Park and Tree Advisory Committee (PTAC)
The city is seeking applications to fill an unexpired Design Professional/Landscape Architect seat on the Park and Tree Advisory Committee. Applicants need to be residents of the city, or own property in the city, or operate/work for a business within the city limits that possesses a valid business license.
