[ARCHIVED] City of Beaufort Storm Debris Status Update

City of Beaufort

Storm Debris Status Update

September 12, 2019 – Waste Pro has been working diligently with extra crews to pick up the conforming piles of vegetative debris resulting from Hurricane Dorian.  They are about a half a day behind and working through each day’s route and will continue to the pace through Saturday until all routes for the week are complete.

We are pleased with the many residents who have ensured the debris is properly bagged and/or bundled as this has made the task of clean up more efficient and resulting in quicker cleanup and beautifying our City.   Keep up the good work!

In order to notify the residents of a non-conforming debris pile, Waste Pro has been tagging those piles as a reminder of the City Ordinance’s requirements as follows:

All yard debris should be adequately bagged, bundled, boxed or otherwise containerized in a disposable container not to exceed four (4) feet in length and fifty (50) pounds in weight and shall be placed adjacent to but not in the street or drainage ditch for collection.

We understand there are large debris piles in areas throughout the City and next week Public Works will begin picking the large debris and large piles.

Thank you for your cooperation.
