[ARCHIVED] City Council to hear Mossy Oaks update

Mossy Oaks Jane Way work

BEAUFORT, S.C. – Beaufort City Council will hold a Work Session at 5:30 p.m. on April 28, followed by a Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held via Zoom, and live-streamed on the City’s Facebook page. The public can participate by commenting on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CityBeaufortSC/).

At Work Session, Neil Pugliese, chairman of the Mossy Oaks Task Force who oversees work on the Mossy Oaks drainage project, will update City Council on the project. The Mossy Oaks neighborhood has dealt with repeated flooding over the years, caused by heavy rains, high tides and storm surges. In 2019, the Jane Way canal and basin was cleared of debris (photo at right), one of the early phases of the project.
