[ARCHIVED] City manager recovering from cardiac bypass surgery

BEAUFORT, S.C. (Dec. 30, 2020) – Beaufort City Manager Bill Prokop underwent cardiac bypass surgery at the MUSC Health University Medical Center on Dec. 29. He is recovering in the hospital and, once discharged, is expected to recover at home for four to six weeks.

Assistant City Manager Reece Bertholf is the interim city manager during this period, and will assume all of Prokop’s normal duties.
