BEAUFORT, S.C. (Nov. 27, 2023) – Please join the Parks division of the City of Beaufort’s Public Works Department as they plant a redbud tree at Pigeon Point Park in honor of Arbor Day, which is observed throughout South Carolina on the first Friday of December.
The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 near the front entry of Pigeon Point Park off Pigeon Point Road. The City's Parks & Tree Advisory Committee (PTAC) will also be joining the celebration.
The City of Beaufort is proud that for 32 years, it has been named a Tree City USA. Among the criteria: Adoption of a tree ordinance, a tree board (PTAC), a community forestry program, and an Arbor Day proclamation and observance.
The public is invited to attend and celebrate this event.
