BEAUFORT, S.C. (Sept. 30, 2024) – The City of Beaufort will perform a one-time pickup of storm debris left over from Hurricane Helene next week, beginning on Monday, Oct. 7.
To ensure pickup by Public Works, all debris must be placed at your home’s curbside no later than 7 a.m. on Oct. 7. If possible, residents should bag and bundle any debris, allowing either Capital Waste Services or Public Works to pick up the debris.
Large branches and other large debris may be left unbound, but they must be placed at curbside.
Do not place debris on or next to utilities such as fire hydrants, water meters, electric/cable boxes, and telephone poles or pedestals. Do not place debris under low-hanging lines and branches as the knuckleboom truck may not be able to reach under them.
In addition, do not use the app SeeClickFIx to put in requests for debris pickup. Once the sweep has been completed, any debris piles that were not picked up can be reported directly to Public Works at 843-525-7054.
Public Works will make every effort to pick up all debris, but the property owner must make sure it is accessible.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we undertake this task.
