The Patrol Division is the largest section of the Police Department, and is led by the Patrol Lieutenant and assisted by the Patrol Master Sergeant. The Patrol Division is made up of four patrol teams that work to keep the streets of Beaufort safe 24/7.

Most police functions are handled through this division, such as:
- Business checks
- Criminal apprehension
- Report taking
- Residential patrols
- Routine patrols
- Traffic enforcement
