Parents Against Drugs Program

logoThe Parents Against Drugs program, organized by the Beaufort Police Department, aims to educate and empower parents to recognize, prevent, and address youth opoid drug use. The program plans to create a supportive network of parents who are wll informed about the dangers of opioid drug abuse and equipped with effective strategies to protect their children from substance-related risks.

Mission

To foster a collaborative and proactive approach to addressing the opioid epidemic, the Parents Against Drugs program brings together law enforcement, the community, and service providers for comprehensive training sessions. Our mission is to equip participants with the knowledge to identify early indications of opioid use, employ effective prevention strategies, and access available resources. Meetings are held in a non-confrontational, centrally located education-based facility, and will serve as a platform for learning and dialogue. 

Led by dedicated officers from the Beaufort Police Department, with support from the local SC Department of Social Services, Coastal Mental Health Services, and the Beaufort County Board of Education, this initiative will leverage the valuable insights of guest speakers, including Beaufort County EMS, local Fire Departments, and residents personally affected by the epidemic.

The Parents Against Drugs program is dedicated to protecting youth from opioid drug usage by uniting law enforcement, the community, and service providers. Through collaboration and shared efforts, the program seeks to create a safer environment and empower participants with the knowledge and resources to prevent opioid abuse among the youth.

By fostering a sense of community and providing a platform for shared experiences, the program strives to create a strong support network that empowers individuals to address and prevent opioid drug issues within the community.

Educate

The Parents Against Drugs program aims to empower parents through education, equipping them with the knowledge to recognize early signs of opioid use. The program emphasizes effective prevention strategies and provides access to resources, enabling parents to proactively address and prevent substance abuse in their children.
